- Member organisations can influence and contribute to industry standards and best practice documents.
- Members can influence and contribute to industry standards in terms of training and competence for their work force. Recent successes include the redevelopment of the NVQ Level 2 in Land Drilling, Land Drilling apprenticeship scheme etc.
- Member organisations can have representatives on the various BDA committees by election or by invitation.
- The BDA have representation on a series of industry committees: Association of Geotechnical Specialists (AGS); Ground Forum; Ground Source Heat Pump Association; CSCS Promotions Committee; BSI and European Committees (B526/3; B513/3; BS EN ISO 22475 parts 1 to 3); Site Investigation Steering Group.
- The BDA provides a full time secretariat offering support, advice and assistance
- Member organisations are required to contribute to industry accident statistics for the benefit of members (a condition of membership)
- Members have free access BDA publications.
- Members are entitled to discounted annual audit fees.
- Company details are included in the BDA membership directory which is published on the website. This directory can include details of your regional offices (some administration fees may apply). Web links are available to your own site and you can publish details of the services you offer, staff training qualifications etc.
- Members have the opportunity to advertise through the website (subject to an additional fee).
