The British Drilling Association (BDA) is pleased to announce its first Webinar “Demystifying the BDA Audit”, which is scheduled for 15 October 2020, at 1pm, and is encouraging all drillers to attend.
With so many myths and untruths floating around about the BDA Audit, ranging from its complexity through to it being little more than a bit of paperwork which drillers never fail, the webinar will aim to address such issues. It will also explain how the Audit has evolved in recent years to take account of the changing drilling environment.
The webinar will feature Richard Fielden, BDA Chair, and Keith Spires, BDA Audit Manager discussing and explaining the audit process itself and some of the most common issues, or non-conformances that the Audit process throws up, and why some Audits are not passed on the day.
Issues such as the general lack of training in wire rope inspection replacement for example, will be discussed, as well as other common non-conformances that lead to a fail, such as LOLER Rig inspections being either out of date or incorrect, employees having the wrong discipline on their CSCS card 1 or second person either not qualified or registered for NVQ.
Attendees to the webinar will be able to ask questions about the Audit, to better understand the process, as well as have any technical or logistical concerns explained.
Speaking about the webinar, Richard Fielden, Chair of the BDA, has commented that it is important that drillers attend the webinar, so that the BDA can receive feedback and their views of the Audit and its processes.
