The British Drilling Association (BDA) has so far raised an amazing £6,320 for its chosen charity – Hospice UK.
Hospice UK is the national charity for hospice care, supporting adults and children’s hospices across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland and undertakes some fantastic work with the children hospices they support.
Those who have donated to date are:
The BDA met with Michael Clarke, Senior New Business Executive of Hospice UK, earlier this week, who said: “The team at Hospice UK would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the BDA for raising such a wonderful amount for our charity. The donation will support our work with children’s hospices, including our Transitions project. This project will make radical improvements in the field of young people’s palliative care, particularly the period when they are ‘Transitioning’ from childrens’ to adults’ hospice services.
Transitions’ is a word used to describe the issues involved in moving from paediatric services to adult services, which thousands of young patients and their families find confusing and complex, and which in turn creates additional stresses for them. Over the next three years. Hospice UK will train and support a number of children’s hospices across the country – giving them the tools they need to then go on to support the thousands of young patients at a time when they really need it.
Your donation will go a long way towards making this happen. Again, thank you!”
A VERY worthy cause, and there is still time to contribute: any BDA members wishing to contribute can donate via the BDA bank account, using the reference “Charity”, details of which are available from the BDA Freephone number – 0800 246 5086.
