The British Drilling Association (BDA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 9th May 2024, unveiling several changes in its leadership. The AGM, a cornerstone event for the association, highlighted the contributions of outgoing leaders and welcomed new faces to key roles.
New Chair Announced
The BDA has announced Mark Toye as its new Chair. Mark brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role. The association extends its deepest gratitude to Paul McMann, the outgoing Chair, for his dedication and hard work over the past two years. Paul’s leadership has been instrumental in navigating the association through numerous challenges and successes.
Directors Confirmed
The AGM also confirmed the appointment/reappointment of three Directors:
Stepping down from the board of Directors is Anne Baxter, to whom we extend an enormous thank you for her contributions over the years. Anne was elected to the BDA management committee in 2013 and was elected BDA Chair in 2016 (a two-year tenure), before she started the role as BDA Director until this year’s AGM.
The BDA would also like to welcome three new management committee members:
New Chair of Technical & Standards Sub-committee
Gordon Ross has been appointed as the new Chair of the Technical & Standards sub-committee. Gordon’s extensive background in technical standards makes him an excellent fit for this role. The BDA would like to thank Mark Toye for his outstanding work as the previous Chair of this sub-committee. Mark’s contributions have been invaluable, ensuring high standards and technical excellence within the industry.
New Chair of Marketing Sub-committee
Debbie Darling is the newly appointed Chair of the Marketing sub-committee. Debbie’s innovative approach and marketing expertise are expected to bring new energy to the BDA’s marketing efforts. The association extends its heartfelt thanks to Richard Fielden, the outgoing Marketing sub-committee Chair, for his excellent work. Richard’s efforts have significantly enhanced the BDA’s visibility and outreach.
