BDA Awards 2024 – SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY NOW!

The British Drilling Association (BDA) is pleased to announce its 2024 Awards are now open for entries.

The BDA Awards are being held 15th November 2024,  at the Crown Plaza Liverpool City Centre, a stunning waterfront hotel, located on Liverpool’s waterfront, one of the UK’s 32 World Heritage sites, celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies within the drilling industry and are a real opportunity to recognise the companies and individuals at the forefront of industry in skill and innovation.

There are 6No. categories; entrants may submit an entry for as many of the award categories as they wish. Each category must be submitted individually.

Categories

Health & Safety

Candidates for this award shall demonstrate development and implementation of an operational process, behaviours, piece of equipment or safety feature that has clearly contributed to improving health and safety within the land drilling industry sector since 1st January 2024. Candidates must demonstrate clear improvements to safety and risk reduction.

Rising Star

This category is open to up-and-coming individuals or organisations within the Land Drilling Industry that show exceptional potential having recently entered the land drilling industry via graduation, later life career change or profession move and is open to:

  • – Drilling Operative (Lead or DSO), Groundworker, labourer, engineer, geologist, apprentice, technician, other
  • – Newly formed businesses within the land drilling industry

There is no age limit or minimum turnover for this category.

Candidates must show all round ability in the field of land drilling, demonstrating outstanding and exemplary behaviours, exceptional potential, and a forward-thinking approach to industry development with unwavering enthusiasm for working in the land drilling sector. Candidates must have only entered the industry after 1st January 2023.

Land Drilling Industry Contractor of the Year

This category is open to drilling industry contractors regardless of size, recognising outstanding performance and achievements since 1st January 2024; highlighting consistently high standards, commitment to safety and wellbeing, sustainability, quality, and the environment whilst demonstrating excellence in all aspects of their service provision and have shown value, innovation and business excellence.

Specialist Support Service Supplier of the Year

This category is open to businesses or independent individuals that provide support services or supply equipment, goods or materials to the land drilling industry.  The award will celebrate land drilling industry suppliers that can demonstrate purposeful contribution to the success of a particular project or the land drilling industry as a whole. Purposeful contribution must have been made since 1st January 2023.

Equipment Innovation

We are looking for the most innovative piece of equipment, product or development of any type, to hit the land drilling industry in the last two years. Judges will be looking for originality and ingenuity that has solved a problem or addressed a key issue within our industry.

Lifetime Contribution to the Industry

This category is via nomination of a land drilling industry peer, colleague or business that has shown outstanding contribution to the industry over a lifetime of service within the sector.

Important Information

  • – Award entries must made via the BDA website. Each category requires a 500-word submission in direct response to the category criteria set out above.
  • – Each award submission must be accompanied a relevant jpeg photograph showcasing the award submission.
  • – The winning award entries will be showcased on the BDA website and across the BDA’s social media channels.
  • – As part of the award entry criteria, applicants shall be requested to submit a 50-word summary of their entry.
