Proud to Support Project RECCE and an Opportunity to Partner

October 8, 2024

The British Drilling Association (BDA) is proud to lend its support for the activities and work of Project RECCE, a registered charity dedicated to helping military veterans transition into civilian careers, particularly within the construction industry. As the industry continues to face workforce shortages — with over 250,000 roles projected to be needed by 2027 — Project RECCE offers a practical and ethical solution to fill these gaps by recruiting from the talented and highly skilled veteran community.

BDA members now have an opportunity to partner with Project RECCE and become part of this impactful initiative. By becoming Affiliate or Strategic Partner of the charity, members can not only contribute to the social good but also gain access to a highly capable talent pool of ex-military personnel eager to bring their valuable skills to the industry.

Exclusive Discount for BDA Members
To further encourage collaboration, Project RECCE is offering BDA members an exclusive discount of 20% off their annual partnership pledge. Normally, the cost of becoming an Affiliate Charity Partner is £4,000 per year, but BDA members can join for £3,200 annually. All that is required is to identify yourself as a BDA member when reaching out to Project RECCE.

By joining Project RECCE, you will gain access to their Employment Rendezvous (ERV) app which connects businesses with military service leavers, veterans, and military spouses. As an Affiliate Partner, your organisation will benefit from full membership on the ERV platform, enabling direct communication with potential recruits and participation in a growing like-minded community.

ERV App Launch and Industry Supporter Offer
We are very excited to announce the launch of the ERV app on iTunes, with the Google Play version dropping imminently. To celebrate this launch, Project RECCE is offering all BDA members the chance to join as industry supporters for free until 1st April 2025. To qualify, members need to sign the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC) and fill out a form. Once the form is completed and cross-checked with the AFC register by the charity, participants will receive an invitation email and the opportunity to provide details of five colleagues, who will also receive “Industry Supporter” rights to ERV.

With this access, members can:

  1. Create an organisation page to showcase their company and celebrate their achievements.
  2. Upload their latest job opportunities and vacant roles.
  3. Share their news on the live feed.
  4. Search for users by skills, experience, education, geographic location, and other attributes, and message candidates directly.
  5. Advertise training opportunities, create and manage community groups, and download resources from the knowledge bank.

By joining and engaging with this app, members will support a UK veterans’ charity, striving to create career opportunities for the military community.

How to Get Involved
This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference while addressing the ongoing challenges within our industry. We encourage all BDA members to consider this opportunity. For more details or to get started, please contact John Davies of Project RECCE via email – jd@projectrecce.org and mention your BDA membership to receive the discounted rate.

Let’s continue to support veterans and strengthen our industry. Together, we can build a brighter future both for our businesses and for those who have served.
