BDA Marketing Sub-Committee – Precis of November 2024 Meeting

The British Drilling Association (BDA) Marketing Sub-committee convened on 25th November 2024 to discuss ongoing initiatives and key projects. Highlights include:

BDA Gala & Awards 2024: Feedback from the recent event will be reviewed in December to enhance future planning. Proposals for the 2025 event are underway, with York being considered as the location. Efforts to boost attendance, such as ticket incentives, are being evaluated.

Media Articles and Website Content: Features on topics like record BDA Audit numbers and the importance of membership have been submitted to GeoDrilling. Post-event coverage of the BDA Awards 2024 will also be included in GeoDrilling.

GeoDrilling International Magazine: Now in electronic format, members can access issues via shared links. Further distribution and content-sharing strategies are under discussion.

BDA Conference 2025: The next BDA conference is themed “Engineering the Energy Shift: Drilling for a Low Carbon Future,” and will focus on sustainability in the sector. Speaker suggestions are welcomed, with outreach to government, academia, and energy-sector experts already initiated.

External Events: The BDA will support key industry events through the remainder of 2024 and 2025, including the BHA Annual Conference, NCE TechFest, and Geotechnica.

Social Media and Blogs: Topics like driving fatigue, construction site theft, and mental health will feature in upcoming campaigns. Members are encouraged to engage in ongoing initiatives, including the Trailblazer programme.

Future Improvements: Collaborative articles, noise awareness, and incident response guides are being developed to enhance industry knowledge and safety standards.

The next meeting is scheduled for 17th January 2025, where progress on these initiatives will be reviewed.
