The British Drilling Association (BDA) is professional trade association formed in 1976, to look after the needs of the land drilling and geotechnical sector in its many formats.
Over the years membership has expanded and now includes manufacturers; suppliers; laboratories; consultants, clients, trainers and surveyors. The BDA is an inclusive organisation and welcomes applications from any organisation that is involved in the UK land drilling / geotechnical sector, however the BDA do not cover petroleum and gas extraction operations.
BDA members come together to raise standards; improve health & safety; promote the industry skills and train & educate all those involved in drilling and geotechnics. BDA members are expected to uphold the highest standards and we recommend that anybody that is procurring services or supplies in this sector, do so from a BDA Member. The BDA is also a member of the umbrella organisation, The Ground Forum, which enables it to keep it in contact with wider, ground related, issues and derive further benefits for its members. The British Drilling Association is a ‘not for profit’ organisation limited by guarantee, whereby its funds are for the sole use and benefit of its members.
