December 20, 2021
The British Drilling Association (BDA), at its recent Management Meeting (December 2021), concluded its agenda with the entire BDA Management Committee expressing its gratitude and thanks to Jon Christie, who stepped down as Chair of the BDA Health & Safety sub-committee.
In addition to thanking Jon for all his contribution, the committee highlighted particular praise for all the work he and the sub-committee has undertaken progressing the BDA Audit to where it is now accepted industry wide, as the gold standard for those looking to demonstrate their competency in drilling.
In addition to the BDA Audit, Jon leaves an enormous legacy of achievements behind him and the BDA’s Health & Safety sub-committee in the best possible position for his replacement when appointed.
On behalf of the BDA Management committee and membership thank you Jon.
Neil Breach of Fugro, who is a long serving member of the H&S Sub-committee, has agreed to act as interim Chair of the committee, until the committee elections, when a permanent appointment will be made.
In the meantime, if any BDA members have H&S related enquiries, please email either – office@britishdrillingassociation.co.uk or John@britishdrillingassociation.co.uk – who will ensure that the query is dealt with by the appropriate person.
