Candidates on the British Drilling Association (BDA) SAP Apprenticeship Scheme 2021/22 have successfully completed ‘Week 3’ of their training, which covered Drilling and Grouting (3 days) and Anchoring (2 days) with site visits. Companies with candidates on the course included Soil Engineering Geoservices, Sirius Geotechnical and Environmental, Alun Griffiths Contractors, WJ UK and Arcadis and, as with previous course elements, the feedback received from the participating candidates has been extremely positive.
The participants will continue their apprenticeship training, with a mix of on- and off-the-job training, with on-the-job elements recorded in a logbook, to be reviewed during each classroom week.
Further training weeks are planned for the months ahead, which in total will see candidates complete some 22 days of classroom training and a minimum of 80 days on-site supervised training.
At the end of training, ‘drillers’ will be awarded a “NCON Cskills Award Level 2 Diploma in Drilling Operations – Land Drilling – Lead Driller”.
All candidates will undertake a “BDA Audit” as part of their apprenticeship scheme.
