The British Drilling Association’s (BDA) is pleased to announce the rescheduled Glasgow seminar “What are the Risk of Rising Complacency about Geotechnics” to now take place 29th April 2021.
As with its London and Manchester-based seminars, the rescheduled event will be just as engaging and with the same high-level speakers confirming their intention to present. As planned, the seminar will tackle similar issues to the previous events, but with a Scottish perspective, and will take place at The Lighthouse, Mitchell Lane, Glasgow.
Specifically, the seminar will focus on whether the geotechnical sector has become a victim of its own success; with recent advances in approach and techniques bringing many benefits, it could be all too easy to assume this has eliminated all the potential ground risks, which could lead to complacency.
Speakers lined up include – Alistair Chilshom of Arup, Kenny Paxton of Atkins, Patrick Cox of AECOM and Jonathan Gammon of Geotechnical Observations, with additional speakers being confirmed shortly.
The seminar costs just £75 for BDA members and £100 to non-members and more information will be available soon.
